New York Times Bestseller set in 16th England where foul-smelling, obese King Henry VIII hold court and holds England hostage to his arbitrary will. After Anne Boleyn (Henry's 3rd wife) loses her head, 30-year old Jane Boleyn returns to advise Anne of Cleves (Henry's 4th wife). 24-year old Anne wants to be a good wife and queen to Henry but she soon finds that is impossible when she discovers that Henry has his eye on the stunning 15-year old Katherine Howard new to court. Her comely charms turns Henry's head and soon the aging monarch is feeling young again and frisky. Entertaining novel with a great eye on historical detail. Gregory's portrayal of the deceit, betrayal, and terror that charcterized Henry VIII's alarming reign is dead on. A well-done production, enormously entertaining. Lovers of good historical novels will love this audio set.
